DfID will end its bilateral aid programme to Albania on 31 March 2009.  To mark this, and the closure of its office in Albania, the UK Ambassador, Fraser Wilson hosted a reception in Tirana on 24 February 2009 with participation of Anthony Smith, the Director of Europe and Donor Relations Division for DFID, government officials, donor community and Civil Society.

DFID has had a bilateral programme in Albania since 1993 and has spent over £35 million in the last 10 years.

Ambassador Wilson said that it was an occasion to celebrate the success of the DFID programme. “Success of working in partnership. And success of Albania in the progress it has made," He said. To read the Ambassador's full speech and the DfID brochure, please click below.
